We make small games
with one loud idea each.

Smug Face Gaming is a tiny independent studio. We build small games in Godot, each around a single idea, and ship them when they feel right in the hand — not before.

What we’re building

One out, one on the way, one under wraps.

FLUTTER gameplay: the bird gliding over the Plains realm

Out now on Android iOS coming soon Godot 4

FLUTTER

One tap. 24 realms. One long run.

A 3D chase-cam flappy flyer. You fly behind your bird and tap to thread the gate rushing at you, through twenty-four realms that cross-fade from plains to open ocean to deep space — then loop. One continuous journey, one score, and the only question that matters: how far past your best did you get?

Hireling: the Gilded Wyrm, waiting at the end of Emberkeep

In development PC Godot 4

Hireling

Nobody’s chosen one.

A deckbuilding rogue-lite set in a kingdom that pays by the task. It is still being built, and we are keeping the details close until it is ready to be played. The site has a signup for the day there is more to say.

Coming soon Godot 4

A third game

Not yet. Soon.

The studio

Small on purpose.

Small is the whole plan. Each game picks a single idea, builds the smallest thing that proves it, and then gets polished until it feels good in the hand. Nothing we make is trying to be big.

Everything is Godot

One open-source engine across everything we make. No licences to manage, no per-platform rewrite, and what we learn on one game carries straight into the next.

One idea per game

If the idea is not fun when the game is tiny, more content will not save it. So each project starts as the smallest playable version of its one idea, and earns every feature after that.

Played before it’s shown

Nothing goes in front of players until it has been played to the end, many times over, by us. A build we would not play ourselves is a build you will not see.

No trackers, no banners

Our sites load nothing from anybody else’s server: no analytics, no cookie banner, no ad pixel. What you see is the whole page, and the same goes for the games’ privacy policies.

Say hello

Press, questions, or a bug that ruined your run.

One inbox, read by the person who wrote the bug. Press kits and screenshots on request — just say which game.
